A German tuning house whose exotic conversions can rival the value of the car underneath them
Wolfgang Hagedorn founded Novitec in 1989 in Stetten, Germany, initially tuning Fiats before the company's 2004 twin-supercharged Ferrari 360 project redirected its focus toward exotics. Today Novitec works across marques through dedicated sub-brands — Novitec Rosso for Ferrari, Novitec Torado for Lamborghini, Novitec Tridente for Maserati — plus programs for McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and Tesla, ranging from engine and exhaust upgrades to full N-Largo wide-body conversions. A Novitec build isn't cosmetic add-ons bolted onto a stock car — the aerodynamic, suspension, and power work can represent a significant fraction of the underlying car's value, and that added value needs to actually show up on the policy.
Novitec, model by model
Novitec's work spans Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, and Rolls-Royce platforms — ask us about your specific build.
812 Superfast N-Largo
2019–Present (15 Units)
Novitec's flagship Ferrari conversion, adding a wide-body kit, revised aerodynamics, and an engine upgrade pushing the 812's naturally aspirated V12 past 840hp. Limited to just 15 units worldwide, making genuine examples extremely rare even among Novitec's own output.

458 & 488 Novitec Rosso Programs
2004–Present (Various Ferrari Platforms)
Novitec Rosso's ongoing Ferrari program spans engine tuning, aerodynamic packages, and full N-Largo wide-body builds across successive Ferrari platforms including the 458 Italia, 488 GTB, and F12, each representing meaningful added value over the stock car.

What published insurance data actually shows
The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) — a nonprofit affiliated with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — publishes real collision loss statistics by vehicle series, and we cite that data on several of our other marque pages where it exists. It doesn't exist for Novitec-modified vehicles specifically. HLDI tracks losses by standard manufacturer VIN series for the underlying car, and it has no way to isolate or price the added value of an aftermarket conversion like a Novitec N-Largo build, regardless of how significant that conversion is. We'd rather tell you plainly that the data doesn't exist than cite a number that isn't real. What this means in practice: a Novitec-modified exotic has to be underwritten based on its actual documented build, not the stock car's typical claims profile.
What carriers actually ask before they'll write coverage
Because a Novitec conversion is applied to an underlying Ferrari, Lamborghini, or other exotic that may itself already be insured or valued as stock, carriers want clear documentation of exactly what Novitec work was done — invoices, build sheets, and photos showing the specific aerodynamic, engine, and suspension modifications — so the policy reflects the car's true, modified value rather than defaulting to a stock valuation that ignores the conversion entirely.
Some Novitec owners showcase their car. Others keep it entirely private. Both are covered correctly.
Many Novitec builds are commissioned specifically to be shown — at concours, exotic car meets, and social media — and owners often want coverage that supports that visibility. Others prefer to enjoy a heavily modified car privately, with the same emphasis on documentation and value protection either way.
An independent brokerage, not a single carrier
We're not captive to one insurance company, and we're not a dealership finance office. That independence is the point: our only job is finding you the right coverage at the right price, then advocating for you if you ever need to use it.
Access to multiple carriers
We shop coverage across a range of specialty and standard carriers instead of pricing everything through one company's rate table, so you see real options instead of a single take-it-or-leave-it quote.
Bundle for a better rate
Combine your Novitec with your home, everyday autos, umbrella liability, other collector vehicles, and — where it applies — your business insurance. Carriers price account relationships, and that often means meaningfully better terms across the board.
Four things a standard policy misses
Agreed value covering the full modified build
The payout is set to reflect the documented Novitec conversion on top of the base exotic — not a stock valuation guide that ignores the modification work entirely.
Build documentation & invoices on file
Coverage built around having Novitec's own invoices and specification sheets on record, so a claim doesn't turn into a dispute over what was actually installed.
Extreme-output engine & aero coverage
Novitec's most extensive builds meaningfully exceed factory output and include structural aerodynamic changes, and coverage needs to reflect that added performance and complexity.
Multi-vehicle & collection discounts
Households with more than one exotic, modified or otherwise, are often eligible for meaningfully better account-level pricing.
