A Texas company chasing the title of world's fastest production car

Hennessey Special Vehicles was established in 2017 in Sealy, Texas (building on founder John Hennessey's decades of tuning work before that), and the Venom F5 — first shown in mock-up form in 2017 — is the company's flagship: a twin-turbo 6.6L V8 hypercar built specifically to chase 300+ mph. Because Hennessey builds in extremely small numbers and continues to push variants further (the Venom F5-M adds a genuine manual gearbox to a 2,000+ hp car, limited to just 12 examples), these aren't cars an off-the-shelf policy is built to handle.

Hennessey, model by model

Hennessey also builds high-output trucks and SUVs (Ford Raptor, Ram TRX, Jeep) under its performance division — ask us if yours isn't pictured here.

Hennessey's flagship hypercar, powered by the company's own twin-turbo 6.6L V8 "Fury" engine making up to 1,817hp in standard form. Built to chase a 300+ mph top speed and the title of world's fastest production car.

The performance ceiling of the F5 line: the Evolution package pushes output to roughly 2,031hp on E85 fuel, while the F5-M pairs that same output with a genuine 6-speed manual gearbox — a roadster-only variant limited to just 12 units at roughly $2.65 million each.

What published insurance data actually shows

The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) — a nonprofit affiliated with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — publishes real collision loss statistics by vehicle series, and we cite that data on several of our other marque pages where it exists. It doesn't exist for Hennessey. HLDI's reporting threshold is 1,000+ insured vehicle years of exposure or 100+ claims nationally in a given study period, and Hennessey builds the Venom F5 in the low double digits per variant — nowhere near that bar. We'd rather tell you plainly that the data doesn't exist than cite a number that isn't real. What this actually means in practice: a Venom F5 can't be priced off an actuarial table — it has to be underwritten individually, based on the specific car, its build, and its use, by a carrier that specializes in ultra-low-volume hypercars.

What carriers actually ask before they'll write coverage

Specialty carriers for a car like this don't just price the car — they underwrite the driver. It's common for insurers to want prior insurance history on other high-performance or exotic vehicles, a clean driving record, secure storage (climate-controlled, alarmed), and a realistic account of how the car is actually used, since a car built to chase 300 mph raises very different questions than a garage queen that only comes out for shows.

Some Hennessey owners showcase their car. Others keep it entirely private. Both are covered correctly.

Some Hennessey owners want their Venom F5 seen — at Salon Privé, Pebble Beach, or a manufacturer track event. Others prefer total discretion, especially given how few examples exist and how identifiable each one is. Both are legitimate ownership styles, and both change what the policy needs to account for — event and transport exposure looks different from a car that never leaves a private, climate-controlled facility.

An independent brokerage, not a single carrier

We're not captive to one insurance company, and we're not a dealership finance office. That independence is the point: our only job is finding you the right coverage at the right price, then advocating for you if you ever need to use it.

Access to multiple carriers

We shop coverage across a range of specialty and standard carriers instead of pricing everything through one company's rate table, so you see real options instead of a single take-it-or-leave-it quote.

Bundle for a better rate

Combine your Hennessey with your home, everyday autos, umbrella liability, other collector vehicles, and — where it applies — your business insurance. Carriers price account relationships, and that often means meaningfully better terms across the board.

Four things a standard policy misses

01

Agreed value, not depreciated value

The payout is set when you bind coverage — not renegotiated by an adjuster after a total loss, and not based on a generic valuation guide that has no idea what a low-double-digit-production hypercar is actually worth.

02

Manufacturer-specific parts & labor

Coverage that pays for genuine Hennessey components and technicians who actually understand a bespoke, low-volume build — not aftermarket substitutes or a generalist shop guessing at a one-of-a-few-dozen car.

03

Track & high-speed testing use

Venom F5 ownership sometimes includes manufacturer-witnessed top-speed runs and track days. Many exotic-car policies exclude this kind of use outright — we place coverage that fits how these cars are actually used.

04

Worldwide/transport coverage

Delivery, shipping to events, and cross-border transport all carry exposure a standard auto policy doesn't anticipate for a seven-figure hypercar.
